My name is Daniel Alvarez. I was born in Madrid (Spain) on 7th July 1983 and this is the place where I still live.
I studied an MSC in Computer Engineering at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and currently (Jan 2008) I am working in Defence & Security area in different tasks such as Cryptography and Real Time systems mainly.
Among my hobbies and interests I would stand out the following: Robotics, Security (hardware, software, networks, …), Cryptography and Electronics.
Currently I co-run a Forum in Spanish language about Electronics (http://www.foroselectronica.es) together with a friend of mine and I am always preparing my next robot for one of the National Robotics Competitions which take place all the year long in Spain. I have won several awards in the mentioned contests for different categories: Sniffer Robots, Sumo, Telefonica R&D Innovation Robotics Competition, …
My other passion is travelling. In the last years I have visited many countries: Norway, The Netherlands, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Turkey, United States, Canada, and I am always looking forward to my next trip.
